We splurged a bit here, and signed up for a heli-hike, which involves a helicopter ride up to the middle of the glacier, a three hour hike on the ice with a guide, and then a helicopter ride back down to the valley. It was a tad expensive, but worth every penny, as we explored a terrain we had never seen before. Definitely a memorable experience, and very highly recommended!
